Mediterranean vineyards and olive orchards
Domenio embraces lands extending from the coast to the more inland parts of the country, providing for viticulture and oil production with intense, well-flavoured properties. This means that we can benefit from the recognition of 5 important designations of origin in Catalonia: D.O. Cava, D.O. Penedès, D.O. Conca de Barberà, D.O. Catalunya and D.O.P. Siurana.
Our croplands, in the heart of the Mediterranean area, are the basis of our production and the Domenio philosophy. The vineyards and olive orchards of the grower members of Cellers Domenys are found between the coast and the Catalan Pre-Coastal mountain range and extend also to the more inland districts of the Camp de Tarragona. These are places that have been worked for years to extract the best fruits from the land.
Baix Penedès
In the Penedès the fields are protected by the Sierra de Montmell and located just a few kilometres from the Mediterranean, enjoying a climate of mild temperatures. The land is level, lying over the pre-coastal depression of the Penedès, not very deep and with calcareous soil, ideal for growing vines.
Conca de Barberà
Conca de Barberà is an area of outstanding beauty, with irregular contours and strong colour contrasts. The vineyards extend in an area between the Serra del Tallat and Serra de Queralt. This is deep, compact land with loamy clay. The climate is Mediterranean-continental, with cold winters and hot summers.
Alt Camp
Between the warm coast and the interior, astride the Serra de Montmell and the Massif of Bonastre, there are Mediterranean vineyards planted on shallow limy soil, in a characteristic Catalan Pre-Coastal area enjoying a climate of mild temperatures.
